Monthly Archives: May 2007As I attended two Memorial events this past week, my heart was heavy. As I watched the strong and courageous Gold Star Spouses and Family members participate in the services I couldn’t help but feel the “harsh reality” that this won’t be the last service I attend. When it’s all said and done, it seems… Shelly, first welcome to the blog! I wanted to say to those who contacted me (via comment and other ways) about my blog yesterday. It really validated my feelings and I’m feeling better today. Good to know I made sense! And hopefully, if there is anyone else out there that feels the same way, reading that let them know they’re not… Yes, I’m a sucker, and this has ABSOLUTELY NOTHING to do with Army Wife life….well maybe it does b/c I am an Army wife and THIS (sometimes unfortunately LOL) is my life. Wren had a mouse die about four months ago. We think she had a tumor. She was buried by her other mouse and… Oh my gosh Tara, that reminds me of Bryttne’s hamster (who has since passed on) when she escaped and we found her in the broiler! Bryttne was an hour late for school that day because we couldn’t leave until we’d found the hamster. HA! Hmm….Hmppphhh…Auggghhh…..AHHHHHHH! I just hurt. I have nine weeks left…and I swear to you my belly button is being ripped in half. Someone told me today (instead of “oh you poor baby, let me rub your feet”) that once she was out of my belly I’d want to shove her back in, more work on the… You are so cute!! (Even if you don’t feel like it). I love my sideways pregnant photos. If you haven’t you should treat yourself to a pedicure. I am not usually a phoo phoo—get a manicure and pedicure done kind of person—-in fact I always do my own nails. However, I always get a pedicure shortly before my due date—so my feet look pretty when I’m pushing—-seriously…..that is important to me. |
Second, what a very true statement. We did a show on Monday night that was hard…but real…and emotional. I hadn’t thought about it the way you put it but now I have perspective.
