Since we’re on the subject of empowering women at AWTR, allow me to share info about a fun magazine that I thoroughly enjoy, when I’m lucky enough to come across it. It is not a military resource- you may have figured that out when I said “fun magazine.” (Wait! That’s not to say that military resources can’t be fun- think Military Spouse Magazine, for example.) Anyway, I’m talking about skirt! magazine.
Here’s what they have to say about themselves

It is a great empowerment tool. I have learned about community healthfairs, local holes-in-the-wall to rejeuvenate, great books, and so much more. It empowers my spirit and my mind.
For now, it is a regional magazine that covers from Charlotte, NC to Jacksonville, FL. But don’t dismay, their website is out there for all the rest of you that don’t live in the Southeast.
