Merry Christmas!

Today is that day we all celebrate the season of giving. This year, I am spending a majority of the day alone. My hubby is deployed and my family lives far away. I could spend the WHOLE day with my fabulous in-laws (who I love very much), but at the same time, I just…

O Christmas Tree!

It’s FRIDAY!..Before CHRISTMAS! Are you ready? Finished decorating? Finished shopping? Let’s have a completely vulnerable virtual moment here: I want to invite each of you into my home, c’mon in…I’ll be there to greet you at the front door with a cup of hot cocoa, some leftover chicken & dumplings and some fuzzy slippers (no…

Our tree is all pretty on top in golds, greens, browns with a woodland/bird theme. And on the bottom are all the fun unbreakable ornaments for the little ones. So the story I am telling is of a mom who is trying to hang on to some semblance of beautiful style while still appealing to the fun, magical, hands-on side of Christmas for her kids! ;)

Leslie, that is absolutely priceless! Love this…and making a mental note for when we have kids. Merry Christmas friend!:)

Thanks for sharing April! Your tree is beautiful, and I especially like the bow with Gerbera daisy on top.
We have a dove on top, often mistaken for a dead seagull. Unbeknownst to my husband (or it didn’t register for real with him until recently) I try to add a new star, angel, santa, and snowflake ornament each year. I don’t go hunting, but if one jumps out at me in that theme… I buy it. It’s come together quite nicely over the years.

I think that’s a great balance Leslie. Some do two trees, but we have the kids ornaments mixed in with ours….but not all of them. I hang on too tightly (maybe to a fault, but my kids are older too)!

Oh, Star, hilarious! I had to read this comment 3 times before I could advance past the “dove mistaken for a dead seagull” comment!! Love that you add something every year…this is something we’ll need to do to help “fill out” our sparse tree and hoping that something fun will jump out at me when the sales season starts. Merry Christmas to you & your family!
