We have been looking forward to it for a long time, since my husband has been deployed for the last year. We live in Hawaii, so vacationing to the neighboring islands is a…  For most of us when we are considering a life involved with the military, we often times dream of all the exotic places we may see along our travels. Recruiters often use the sales pitch to gain new recruits that you can “see the world” and experience wonderful and unique cultures if you sign up…. Hawaii is NOT waht you would expect. It was the WORST duty station ever!!! The Traffic is horrible, the Locals (Hawaii residents) are extremely mean to you and the school system is the WORST in the U.S. If you can, please change your Orders and go somewhere where people appreciate you and not curse you out for the sacrifices you are making to this Country.  Kids are out of school and the sun is blazing…yep, it is definitely summer time! Like a majority of others, summer is the time for vacations and my family is no exception. I have been busy trying to figure out all the typical stuff, where to go, how much to spend, how are we going… |

I LOVE IT! We do get caught up sometimes in our MILITARY lifestyle and forget there are others out there that don’t have a clue!
When you were young and we lived in the civilian community I think they thought we were from MARS!!! Dad was never home and they thought I was a single Mom!!!
Thanks mom. I have to admit, I was taken aback at first. But she was really nice and super interested. When you live it day to day, you do get caught up. I love how she asked me about the tv show. Her husband told her to stop! It was pretty funny!
